Are You A Beginner Veggie Gardener?

Free Vegetables - for Life

The PLANT-A-GENDA was invented so that people could buy heritage seed [either from Eden or Seed Savers, The Lost Seed, Diggers] – ONCE [AND know where to find them!]  You will now have FREE VEGETABLES FOR LIFE

Let one of each vegetable type go to seed at the end of the picking period, and put those seeds either in the original seed packet, [which you have kept and filed] or in one of those envelopes that you don't know what to do with. I recommend keeping the original seed packet, until it wears out. The Seed Bible will tell you which month is the first one for planting of each vegetable; you file the seed packet behind the relevant divider.

Everything has seeds, so once bought, and collected at the end of the picking period, you never have to buy them again. Your start-up costs are the cost of the PLANT-A-GENDA, [which will last you a lifetime]; probably around $50 for a year’s supply of seeds [which you only need purchase once] and your worm farm. After that, you’ll have free, fresh vegetables for life. See our article for instructions on how to build an elevated garden bed – no digging, no weeding, no back breaking work. The PLANT-A-GENDA comes with comprehensive Companion Planting for each vegetable listed. FREE, FRESH, VEGETABLES WITHOUT STRENUOUS WEEDING. How good is that!

Bear in mind that in collecting one's own seeds, the strike rate will be even better than the original one, coz those seeds that come up, actively love the ground they are in. Naturally peas and beans are in the pod, waiting for you to dry them in a paper bag in your laundry.

Carrot seeds: let just one carrot go to seed - it'll shoot up, on a long stalk, and have an umbrella-type flower on the top. This will be packed with seeds. Cut the stem down low, turn upside down into a paper bag, scrunch the top, and hang up until dry. Just by shaking the stem, in the paper bag, will harvest enough seeds for 5 years! Silverbeet, when it has bolted, likewise, except you just scrape the seeds off the long stem with fingers and thumb.
